May Day

A kiss upon my shoulder from your lips is greater poetry than I could ever write
Soul mate, far away, starcrossed, flame of twins, sometimes almost everything
Love blossoms in shadow, somewhere between a secret and a dare,
Neruda’s oft love affair
All Salt and no Topaz
Unrequited recriprocated
Seeded long ago, barely was I a woman,
More than a girl
Try as I may, I just cannot let go
So I take these scraps of Hello,
Followed by goodbye
Your mouth soft and wet
A Mind Spotless Full of Sunshine,
And memories,
So pretty.
